Pop-up Exhibit: From 1876 to 2076 – Imagining America’s Future
In 1876, a La Crosse editor playfully imagined life 100 years ahead, poking fun at local politics, rival editors, and city streets—while predicting future travel and warning about Wisconsin’s pine forests. Now it’s your turn! Share your predictions for 2076 at the Heritage Center, April 3–May 23, 2026.
Tour: Light & Beauty: Stained Glass Treasures of La Crosse
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, experience the beauty of stained glass in some of the region’s most remarkable sacred spaces during the first-ever Light & Beauty: Stained Glass Treasures of La Crosse Tour. Presented by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration Affiliates, the Franciscan Spirituality Center, the La Crosse County Historical Society, and Explore La Crosse, this special event runs from 1:00–4:00 pm.
Participants will visit five stunning church spaces (Mary of the Angels Chapel, San Damiano Chapel, First Lutheran Church, Christ Episcopal Church, and the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman) to experience stained glass ranging from traditional Tiffany-style windows to rose glass and other artistic forms.
Guests may choose to ride the trolley or explore the sites on their own. Tickets are available online through the Franciscan Spirituality Center.
Exhibit: Drink in the Design: La Crosse Beer Advertising
Opening this summer at the La Crosse Area Heritage Center, Drink in the Design: La Crosse Beer Advertising raises a glass to the bold, colorful, and sometimes quirky world of local brewery marketing.
