The Enduring Families Project (EFP) brings the stories of early Black residents in the La Crosse area to life. Through storytelling, education, and community engagement, EFP helps preserve these important histories and share them with new generations.

The Enduring Families Project now has two distinct branches, each with its own approach to bringing local history to the community.

EFP–Theater

EFP–Theater brings history to life through theatrical performances and first-person historical interpretations. Local actors portray individuals from the region's past, sharing their experiences, contributions, and challenges through engaging performances for schools, community organizations, and public audiences.

EFP Children's Stories

EFP Children's Stories creates engaging, age-appropriate stories that introduce young readers to the people and events that shaped our region's history. Through children's storytelling, this branch aims to inspire curiosity, build understanding, and ensure these important local stories reach future generations.
