LEGACY SOCIETY
The Legacy Society honors individuals who commit to preserving our shared history through estate gifts. By including La Crosse County Historical Society in their estate plans, members ensure that future generations can access, learn from, and celebrate our local heritage.
How to Give
Legacy gifts, also known as planned gifts, are simple ways to create lasting impact. Supporters may include the Society in a will, trust, retirement plan, life insurance policy, or charitable trust. These gifts provide tax advantages while sustaining our mission for years to come. Legacy gifts can be unrestricted or designated for a specific purpose.
Sample Bequest Language
"I give to La Crosse County Historical Society, a WI nonprofit located in La Crosse, WI operating under 501c3 tax-exempt status EIN 39-1228755, the sum of $_____ (or ____% of my estate), (or other personal property described herein), to be used for its general purposes (or state specific designation). If at anytime it becomes impossible or impractical for my gift to be used for the above designated purpose, La Crosse County Historical Society shall use my gift for a purpose and in a manner that most closely meets my original intention."
