Group tours for all ages are available at Riverside Museum and Historic Hixon House. Tours can be scheduled through the LCHS office.
Riverside Museum is designed to fit the curriculum of the La Crosse area second grade schools, making it an ideal field trip for this grade! Children and adults of all ages will also enjoy the river history and War Eagle artifacts. Guides are available for tours, or you can visit the museum self-guided.
Riverside Museum may be a great outing for your Boy Scout or Girl Scout troop! Custom museum patches are available for both Historic Hixon House and Riverside Museum.
Historic Hixon House is a docent led tour through the home built by Gideon Hixon. Student tours are designed for students in the 4th -8th grades, although older students may benefit as well. This tour may also be a great trip for your troop or a family reunion!
Student Tours are also available in the fall for Discover the Silent City! Dates are currently being set with our location, Oak Grove Cemetery. Students will visit reenactors portraying notable characters from La Crosse's history. If you would like more information on these tours, please fill out the contact form below.
Please call our office or fill out the contact form below for dates and rates for your group!
Tours are scheduled throughout the year. During winter hours we ask that groups have at least ten participants, or pay the equivalent of ten participants to ensure the costs associated with the tour are accommodated.
We make every effort to fit your group into our schedule and ask for as much notice as possible to ensure we provide enough guides for your event!
