Celebrate Family Fun Fair at Riverside Park from 12-4pm
An (inexpensive) afternoon of games, activities, education, and bonding time. Last year over 3,000 people enjoyed spending their time at the Family Fun Fair! La Crosse County Historical Society will have a booth of information on our organization as well as fun events for the kids. LCHS’ Riverside Museum will be open and all attendees are welcome to tour the museum at two tickets each (1 ticket costs $.25). Riverside Museum will have programming during the event (re-enactors and guides to help explain the museum).
The La Crosse County Historical Society also will celebrate the anniversary of the sinking of the War Eagle (May 15th 1870) by inviting school groups to visit the museum. We have sections of prehistory, which includes artifacts from the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center (MVAC), Logging, European settlement, mussel species and pearl button making, dug outs canoes, steamboats, War Eagle Artifacts (did you know the boat burned and sank just north of where the museum resides, in the Black River?), and more! Reserve your tour TODAY!
